GENCOAST was established in 1989 in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, B.C. Throughout the 1990s, most of our aquaculture work was completed for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, including rearing channels, fishways, river barrier fences, tank farm systems, and related infrastructure.

By the late 1990s, GENCOAST was fully established in the aquaculture industry, specializing in hatchery systems on Vancouver Island.
Through the 2000s and into the present, we have grown alongside the aquaculture sector and have completed major projects for all three leading West and East Coast companies: Mowi, Cermaq, and Grieg Seafood.

Over this period, GENCOAST has evolved into a full Project /Construction Management service provider. Our general contracting capabilities include civil work, underground and above‑ground piping installation, cast‑in‑place concrete, installation of precast concrete and fiberglass tanks, equipment installation, and more.

Our Project Management and Construction Management services include scheduling, budgeting and budget tracking, procurement, pre‑project and design coordination, CAPEX/OPEX analysis, constructability reviews, and long‑term operational planning. GENCOAST also provides HDPE fusion services, with machine capabilities ranging from ½” to 36” diameter, as well as HDPE extrusion welding for custom requirements.
