Below is a brief description of the projects Gencoast Construction has assisted with to date.

MOWI CANADA EAST

2018 to 2022

Indian Head Hatchery
Post Smolt RAS, Incubation, Grade Vaccine building, Influent treatment system, Effluent treatment system, well fields, retrofits to existing smolt systems, full site monitoring.

  • Project Management, part of initial design team, coordination of engineering disciplines procurement, design review, equipment and material selections, Scheduling, Budgeting, Option analysis (OPEX vs CAPEX), specific SOP and manuals for systems, Quality Assurance
  • Construction Management, civil works, pipe work (HDPE, PVC, SS, ½” to 42”) Cast in place/ Precast concrete, Equipment install and commissioning.

MOWI CANADA WEST

2015 to 2018

Dalrymple
Effluent Treatment system Facility for the collection and process of all effluent from site.

Big Tree Creek
14m RAS system including concrete work, piping, precast tank installation, equipment installation, oxygen system, and ventilation system.

Dalrymple
14m RAS system and a 6m RAS system Facility.

Dalrymple
Refit of Incubation system.

Duncan (2008)
Brood Stock RAS system Facility.

5 – 9m RAS tank farm system.

CERMAQ

1998 to 2010

Boot Lagoon (Port Alberni, BC)

  • Early Rearing Facility for 48- 1.5m tank farm and 12- 3m tank farm c/w effluent treatment and heat recovery system.
  • Major effluent upgrade and outfall for the complete hatchery site.
  • Major Fresh water supply infrastructure upgrade.
  • Installation of 10- 9m tank farm and height extension of existing 8- 9m tanks.
  • Refit and expansion of existing incubation building and equipment.
  • Installation of new UV system for the hatchery site.

2010 to 2015

Ocean Farm (Duncan, BC)

  • Early rearing facility building and installation of 20-1.5m tank farm.
  • Water Treatment System (Akva Group) RAS system for 20- 1.5m tank farm.
  • Upgrade to aeration towers and main supply lines.
  • Installation of 6- 9m tanks c/w supply line and drains to tie into existing infrastructure.

GRIEG SEAFOOD

2001 to 2012

Gold River Hatchery

  • Refit and expand the incubation facility.
  • Upgrade the existing fresh water supply system and distribution infrastructure for the site.
  • New manifold and UV system.
  • Upgrade main effluent drainage and outfall system c/w effluent heat recovery infrastructure.
  • Installation and upgrade of aeration towers.
  • Upgrade existing early rearing facility tank farm.
  • Install 6-9m tank RAS system.
  • Install the second 6-9m RAS system.
  • Installation of a third RAS system for 12 – 3m tanks and 2 – 12m tank farm.
  • Broodstock holding facility.
